Hi there, I've had my Fitbit One for a couple months now, and recently started tracking exercise with the timer button. The activity is succesfully logged into my online dashboard and registers as active minutes, but does not register as an exercise. Why is that? I guess that makes the exercise function of the fitbit useless as I only do step based activites, ie. walking, jogging, aerobics, HIIT? Thanks for any insight.

I've had the same issue and hope you get a response.

I'd also like to know the answer to this. I held down the button to start the activity timer, did my half hour walk to work, then held it again to end the timer. This has synced with my account and it is now showing that half hour as active minutes and can be seen on my dashboard as activity logged, but is not counting it towards my exercise goal. Yesterday I tracked my walk using the GPS tracking feature on the app and that did count towards my exercise goal (not sure if it also counted as active minutes or not). I expected that if I used the activity timer feature on the One, it should count as "exercise"? Is it only "exercise" (as in counting towards my goal of exercising 5 days per week) if you've logged the activity through the app/dashboard?
