I know how to set up a Fitbit - just bought my fourth One after #3 went through a full laundry cycle! I deleted #3 from my profile before starting setup with #4.
My problem is that during setup, my new One is not found. It is fully charged. I have tried setup using both the iPhone app, and (a newly-downloaded copy of) the Fitbit Connect app on my Mac. In both cases - even if the One is only inches from the Mac or the iPhone - it is not found.
What's my next step?

Is your phone around or any bluetooth for that matter. It will interfere with set up. Remove them and it should work

I have followed your suggestion, but get exactly the same result. Have downloaded a fresh copy of FitBit Connect, and tried setting up on my Mac using the dongle, with Bluetooth off on the computer and no otherBluetooth devices anywhere in the house - nada. Then tried setup using the FitBit app on my iPhone, this time with Bluetooth on (as required) - nada.
Have also tried a different technique that I have used successfully in the past: reset the FitBit One by connecting to USB port on Mac (using charging cable) and then holding down the button on the FitBit One for 10 seconds. Once again - nada.
Am becoming convinced that this FitBit One, newly out of sealed retail package, is faulty. Thoughts??
