Fitbit one 6.60 message

I have a Fitbit one that I have been trying to use for a couple months, every time I try to set it up it pops up a gray battery and "Fitbit 6.60". I have cleaned my fitbit one and I have tried resetting it. The only time it actually shows the gray battery and 6.60 message is when it is plugged up, once I disconnect it from the cable it will not turn back on. It will however sync to the Fitbit app but  it's not recording anything since it won't work once its unplugged.  I've had it for a couple years now and I did stop using it when I got my fitbit Flex, but now the battery on my Flex is very poor. I really don't want to spend the money on buying a new Fitbit.

Thank you.

Same problem:

Fibit One stopped working: for example, at 6:00 in the morning, the clock said it was 10pm the previous night; it stopped tracking steps; and whenever I pressed the button, I got nothing except "Fitbit 6.60" followed by incorrect data. On several days, it added that days' steps to the previous days (since it hadn't cleared the data at midnight as it should have. Other days it recorded no steps at all even though I was normally active.

Went through all the troubleshooting steps, and spoke to customer support twice. Their response: it's more than a year old so the warranty has expired. Nothing they can do about the problems....but here's 25% off another device. Why would I want to buy another device when they've just admitted it's defective and can't be fixed?
