Fitbit one not syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

No sync since the last update 10/18/2020.

please fix!

Update: 10/28/2020 @6:00am cst.

I'm not pointing fingers, but its odd that the sync issue started the same day my phone device did an update.

I struggled through the Fitbit reset/restart steps and the issue has been resolved. 😁  I tried restarting the Fitbit one device by just using the power adapter and the Fitbit  charging cord and that did not work.

The restart must be done using a computer.

I noticed tonight that I haven’t been able to  sync since 10/15 and I am getting a “device not found” message. Grrrrr.

@jj60152 can you share the link with us relating to the Fitbit One update on 10/18/2020? I don't believe there's been a firmware update since the 6.46. What features does this new update include?

@JudyChicago hey, I'm also in Chicagoland 🙂 I just synced my one. Maybe yours is dead or maybe you've got a connectivity issue. Try restarting it, as well as turning Bluetooth off on your phone then hitting sync, allowing Fitbit to turn on the Bluetooth <-- for some reason, this works incredibly well anytime I've encountered sync issues, which is rare. Cheers!

Hi. Restarting the fitbit one worked for me, but it took awhile for me to how the steps to do it. Including the link and scroll down to the One header. Hope this works for you.Restart/reboot Fitbit One

@jj60152 I respect your perspective and recognize others have expressed similarly, and although not part of Fitbit's support or technical staff I assure you the engineers haven't written a firmware code that kills devices, it's just not done. I've spent my professional career working with the largest tech companies on the planet, this isn't something that happens. Errors and oversights can happen (usually fixed with another update), but the 6.46 has proven stable for over 3 years. It improves battery life with the addition of being able to turn off real-time data tracking.

The reason it appears that the firmware fried your device is simply its the release date, these trackers are destined to die within 3-4 years, it's just the nature of the lithium polymer batteries (with a few outliers that run past their destined death date).

I've personally replaced batteries in over a dozen Fitbit Ones for myself and others and all are updated successfully to 6.46 without any issues. Check out this one in the pictures, I'd purchased this "brand new in the box" dead Fitbit One that appears never had the negative battery wire successfully attached (or even enough solder to hold it into place). I'd added a drop of solder and charged her up and BAM running great and upgraded her firmware to 6.46 and she's now running perfectly with the battery lasting for over a week. Yes, my Fitbit One identifies as female 🙂 LOL

I'm happy to provide tips on repairing these for anyone interested and have posted several threads in this forum with step-by-step pictures and instructions for replacing the battery as like yourself and most everyone here, I'm a big fan of this little tracker. Have a beautiful day!

@Greeneyesmlt if the Fitbit is dead off the charger, attempting to sync from a computer isn't going to help resolve things, it's simply a dead battery and needs to be replaced. One burgundy one right here lasts 2 weeks on a single charge, tracks steps perfectly but can't connect to the app. If it's working off the charger, then you can attempt disabling Bluetooth on the phone and having Fitbit re-enable it or attempting from a PC, but, if it's dead, software can't resurrect it, only a battery can.

I've literally got well over 2 dozen Fitbit Ones in front of me. Some simply can't sync, there's something wrong with Bluetooth and they're technically nonfunctional, the remaining majority simply have dead batteries, either at the factory level (cables weren't ever connected properly when assembled; someone at Foxconn must've not had their coffee that day) or from natural degradation as these batteries weren't ever designed to last for more than 2-3 years. There are outliers too, I've got some perfectly functional Fitbit Ones that are 7+ years old and still run well (though only a few days of battery compared to over a week when new).

I'm having the same problem with the "device not found" message.  I have tried re-starting my Fitbit, turning my phone off and on, turning blue tooth off, but my phone is no recognizing my fitbit.  Did you find a fix Judy?

Not sure won’t the “ahem” is. That is not what I typed. Is should say “and now it won’t find my Flex or my One.

I finally got my Fitbit 1 to sync by going to my Fitbit account on-line
deleting the device and then adding it back on. It saved all the data too.
