Goal Weight and Calories

I decided to give myself short term goals because I do have a lot of weight to lose and it seems a little less stressful. But I am finding that everytime you go into the goal weight feature you have to reset your goal weiight to the current date. This is really not ideal and I wish they would allow you to view at least without changing. I also set up that I wanted to try and make the weight lost kinda hard and lose 2lbs per week but my calories are completely off... Most days it tells me I am under target by 2000 or 3000 calories which is insane. In all fairness I am trying to working out and least 3 or 4 times per week. But I just don't understand why it is doing this and if I try and go back to the goal weight it will restart everything. Can anyone help? Thanks so much 🙂

Hi @jnic312.

I think that you have to re-visit your weight goal and the time frame that you chose to achieve it in order for your day-to-day metrics showing on your dashboard to make more sense. A weight loss of two pounds per week is extremely aggressive, hence I'm not surprised at all that your dashboard would show that you're under target to the the tune of two to three thousand calories.

So my suggestion is to start with a more realistic weight goal and time frame as opposed to shooting for the moon from the get go. For example, suppose you want to loose 50lbs over the next 12 months. Well, one pound a week, with a target date a year down the road would achieve that and would give you realistic numbers on your dashboard. But for me, I would prefer to segment that goal into smaller bites, like losing 10 pounds over the next three months. If you get there sooner, then that's great; then you can reset your next target, again making sure that your timeframe for achieving it is reasonable.

Does this help any?
