I don't really care about any specific features except for calorie counting. I count my calories, but my activity is sporadic as I have a job that makes me walk all over NYC every day. I'd like to know how much I walk and how many calories I burn each day. Seems like the One can do that. Is there really any extra benefit in me getting a more expensive model if I just want to see how many calories I burned and how how much distance I traveled? I like the fact that I can put it on my belt or something rather than my wrist, too, as I wear a regular watch.

The advantage of some of the wrist-worn trackers is that they can measure your heart rate. Fitbit can calculate a more accurate calorie burn for those activities that may not involve that much stepping if it knows the heart rate.
However, if your main activity is walking then the heart rate may not be much of a factor. I use a One and have several of the wrist-worn trackers and I find the One is the most accurate for step counting. It sounds to me that the One would be a good choice for you.

The One sounds fine for you. It was my primary tracker for a couple of years and I still use it even though I have newer models. In addition to accurately counting steps, it gives you a pretty good estimate of how much positive elevation you covered over the course of a day (up hills, stairs etc) in the form of a floor count. You can also get fitbit's older style sleep records by wearing to bed in a wrist wrap that comes with it (you have to push the button before you go to sleep and when you wake up, but it gives you useful info about how long it took you go to to sleep from the button push).

Suggest you wear the One on your bra as I lost my first one. I like the One because I am a Nordic walker and the wrist ones don't calculate properly when you swing the arms with the the poles. Also with my heart rate monitor I need to wear the watch, so the One seems to be the best one.
I like that it calculates stairs too!
but just remember, don't wear it outside your clothing or you run the risk of losing it.
