Miles vs amount of steps

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am ahead of a particulare memeber in our group by 10000 steps but lag them by 33 miles on the leader board. Is there something wrong with my fitbit, doesn't seem like that could be right. Does he have a different step length/size. I have completed 72000 steps as of now.

Help me understand this or do I need to contact fitbit and see if my ONE is faulty

Your Fitbit One counts steps.  The only way it knows miles is by multiplying steps times stride length.  If you are confident that YOUR stride length is roughly correct (so either you have kept it at Fitbit's default, which is the average for your gender and height, or you measured it carefully yourself) then you can be confident that your numbers make sense.  You have no way of knowing what stride length your friend has set -- it might be (and sounds like it is!) quite wrong...

Short answer: nothing wrong with your Fitbit!
