problems with my One

My One stopped synching. There was another forum thread which suggested that you hold down the button fo the One for 20 seconds and that doing so would not reset the steps. I did this, and it DID reset the steps, so as far as the system is concerned all 7,000+ steps are gone. This was going to be a good on-the-record day. I'm guessing there's no way to get that data back. So I guess this day is shot for recording purposes.

And the device STILL is not synching.  I bought a new phone yesterday, and yesterday, it seemed to synch just fine. But today, it has stopped and I'm dead in the water.

Also - I can't see how to synch from the web Dashboard. I'm probably missing something obvious.

Any help would be appreciated.

- Bal

Update: Things suddenly started working again. The actual count did not revert to 0, although on the device itself, the count did reset. But on my dashboard, it shows the accurate count. So that's fine.  I don't understand what happened. If someone could explain it to me, that would be super. But as long as it ultimately works, I'm good.

Hi @BalSimon and welcome to the Community. I am not entirely clear as to what you saw there. Restarting your Fitbit One, using the instructions in How do I restart my tracker should definitely not result in erasing any data from your tracker, unless (I suppose) the One is malfunctioning. Your Fitbit One will reset all the metrics daily at midnight to start counting again with the beginning of the new day. As for syncing, I can't tell from your post which device you're using; but you can certainly get a lot of information in How do Fitbit trackers sync their data . Whether you're using a mobile device or a computer/dongle to sync, wireless sync with your Fitbit One should occur without any intervention on your part, every 15-20 minutes or so if there is new data to sync. But regardless of the device being used, you always have the ability to force a sync if you want to, something that I rarely do since pressing the button on my One allows me to navigate the various screens to see where I stand during the day; and that's good enough for me. I hope this helps. Have a nice day. And if you have more questions, please don't hesitate to come back here. This Community is great!
