Hi
My Fitbit one has not sync since I did the last upgrade a few days ago. I've done all troubleshooting solutions which have worked in the past. Can someone please help?

I have done all this and it still says "looking". This had worked in the past but not this time. I have also logged out, turned phone off but still nothing.

My one hasn't synced with my phone for over two weeks. I have a Samsung Galaxy Neo 5 which I got about a month ago. I'm hoping that you will add this phone to the list that can use the app. I'm a little annoyed that I can't use it to track via my phone and sync to WW.

I've been having troubles as well. I checked the troubleshoot article. Didn't find it helpful at all because the troubleshooter keep refering to apps. I have zero apps on my windows laptop.

I turned off bluetooth on my laptop and my fitbit did sync once. I tried a second time to sync. Didn't work.

Guess I'll throw the fitbit in the trash unless Fitbit wants to make the older version of the windows program available.

Hi @ScottDJohnson. I can't tell from the limited information contained in your post which version of Windows you're running on your laptop. If you're running Windows 10 and have the Fitbit app for Win 10 installed, the lagacy Fitbit Connect program for Windows PC will work just fine with your Win 10 laptop, without having to remove the Fitbit app for Win 10. With the legacy Fitbit Connect program, you'll need to have the USB dongle plugged in in order to sync. I wouldn't give up on the Fitbit One just yet Scott - these issues can usually be resolved PDQ with a bit of troubleshooting. If you tell us more about your laptop configuration, and explain a bit more what you see on the screen when attempting to sync, perhaps someone here will be able to get you going. Do you have a phone or another device paired and with a live connection to your Fitbit One while attempting to sync with your laptop?

Hi @AbWildrose. I can't be of much help with the phone/sync issue but I can certainly try to help you with the computer sync. To sync with your computer, you need to donwload and install the appropriate Fitbit Connect or Fitbit app version of the Fitbit software; and unless you're running Windows 10, you will also have to have the Fitbit dongle plugged into a USB port. Please give us an update so we can troubleshoot further.

Hi again @AbWildrose. I just checked your profile at www.fitbit.com and it looks like all your steps are there, up to including today's steps. So I'm not sure what's going on. Perhpas your tracker was set up to one account (email address and password); but you've used a different email address to log on to fitbit.com, in which this particular account has no knowledge whatsoever of your tracker. You have to sign on to fitbit.com using the same account (email address) as the one used to set up your tracker.

Hi TandemWalker

My laptop has windows 8.1 (no idea if it's home or another verison).

"Searching a fitbit tracker" "Make sure it is close to your computer"

This goes on for a few minutes then this shows up:

Not working?

1/ If there are other trackers nearby, move them away.

2/ Make sure your tracker is close to your computer.

3/ If your tracker is connected to a nearby mobile device, disable bluetooth on your mobile device and try again or use the fitbit mobile app instead.

1/ No other trackers in the house

2/ Tracker is within 3 feet of the dongle

3/ Bluetooth on my phone is turned off. Same for my old ipod and tablet.

As for using the mobile app - it has too many permissions for me.

I just shoved the dongle into a usb 3.0 port and the tracker synced.

Tried the usb 2.0 port twice. First time failed, second time synced.

Too weird. Seems fine now.

Thanks

Hi @ScottDJohnson. Your Fitbit One needs the dongle plugged into a USB port right off your computer's motherboard in order to sync. This is not from an expert but just from one regular fitbitter to another. I'm glad everything is working fine now. I would suggest to leave the dongle plugged in all the time, this way your One will automatically sync via Bluetooth whenever your computer is turned ON. Take care.

My dongle has been plugged into the same port since I bought the fitbit. Just one day back in January it started acting up. Suddenly I had to start signing in everytime. I figure it was a software update.

Thanks for your time.

I've had the Fitbit One for a few years. I am running on Windows XP,  Please don't tell me I need to upgrade, because the thing works about as often as everyone else who keep posting about this problem. It was working just fine two days ago.  This is not the first time it's happened, and yes, I've followed the "trouble shooting" steps.I am not running any aps, no phone, blue tooth, etc. The help articles simply take you in circles and solve nothing. Why is this such a CONTINUAL problem for myself and others?

We are in the same situation as all the comments here. Yesterday 2.11.16 both of our 'ones' synced fine.  Today it spins and spins 'looking'.  I have switched dongles, switched USB ports, uninstalled and reinstalled connect software...at wit's end to solve.  I did update our Win7 64bit today at noon.  Could there be an issue related to the latest Windows update?  Hope help is on the way.

Hi @scottyj and @allthatjazz. There can be 1001 reasons why your tracker may not sync, like:

  1. Fitbit server is down or undergoing mainteance.
  2. You have a live connection with your One and another device (phone, tablet ...). Turning off the Bluetooth signal on the other device will allow you to sync with your computer. While Fitbit Connect can indeed sync with many different devices, it can only have a live connection with one device at a time.
  3. It may may be browser related. Remove the dongle, sign-off your account, clear your browser cache, and do a complete system shut down. Then boot up again, plug the dongle back in. Unless it's a Fitbit system issue, odds are that your One's syncing functionality will be restored.
  4. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Fitbit Connect program.
  5. Sometimes, a quick Restart (it only takes 15-20 seconds) solves syncing - please click here Restart but instead of holding the button down just 10-15 seconds, keep holding it until you see Fitbit on your One's display, followed by the firmware version number, which should be 6.60. If the number you see is lower then you need to update your Fitbit One to the latest firmware, using the instructions in this help document How do I Update my Tracker.

Everything is syncing fine at my end, with both Mac and Windows 10 computers. So I don't think it's a system problem. I think that one of the tips listed above might very well restore the sync functionality with your tracker. If not, please come back here and give us an update with as much details as possible so we can get a feel for what you're looking at. Hope this helps. Have a nice day.

I've got the right firmware. The fitbit one has to be in the charging cable attached to the computer. http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/How-do-I-restart-my-tracker?q=update+my+tracker&l...

The instructions say to click on the fitbit icon near my computer's clock. I know it's a minor detail but it should say "right click". Instructions should be written with the assumption that the person needing help doesn't know anything about computers.

Thanks for your time.
