Need help with syncing

I've had synch problems for six months. My One won't synch with My Fitness Pal. I've gone so far as to purchase a new FITBIT and still can't get them to synch. Fitbit says it's not their problem, they said their engineers weren't involved (whatever that means) because Fitbit's site says they are compatible with MFP. What a joke, I'm out more money for a new FITBIT that doesn't synch with MFP and Fitbit tells me tough, go talk to someone else, they can't help me. And after looking at various forums (I should've done that before purchasing a second device) the syncing problem is a problem for many others.

There's a solution! It happened to me for many many months and I received no help at all until the help line finally solved the problem. My fitbit was not syncing my extra calories burned with My Fitness Pal

Try this....

On your MFP app on your phone or whichever app you're trying to link, choose More at the bottom

Select 'Steps'

Mine was set to the default (probably at the last update if I recall correctly) which is 'Don't track steps'

Instead, choose 'Fitbit Tracker'. That did it for me. I was back on track again.

That's unfortunate. When we link to MFP we are linking the accounts and it doesn't matter what tracker we have. Indeed, it should work even if we don't have a tracker.

Can you give us some more information on the problems you are having. Did the connection go ok? Is no data passing to/from MFP or just some?

Could it be that the problem is at MFP's side? Have you raised the problem with them too?

MFP has offered to help, however none of their suggestions have worked.

I'm done with FITBIT, moving to Garmin.

Yep! The problem started in September after the MFP update.

Thanks for the suggestion. I found that about a week ago, however it would
let me change it. So I've been uninstalling and reinstalling both apps
multiple times.

Good news! Early this morning (3am) I went through the trouble of creating
new accounts, which meant creating a new email address because it kept
recognizing me. After creating new accounts I was able to change that. As
of this morning about 5 it hasn't synched the steps to MFP. Unfortunately I
haven't checked it yet because of a migraine, (privacy he the migraine from
staying up all night) and because I haven't used the Fitbit today because
I've been bedridden. Tomorrow is another day, hopefully it will work.

I appreciate your suggestion because I too think that is the problem. I'm
thankful I was too finally change that setting. Funny that Fitbit not MFP
never mentioned that. I even sent a screen shot of it to them and they
didn't respond.

Thanks again and have a great exercise filled day.

Thanks, Kathy! Now if only the syncing problem could be resolved and life would be good. I don't need this 'waste of time' problem.

I can't get My Fitness Pal to sync with my Fitbit.  I don't want to delete the apps and start over since I've been doing this since 2012.  Help?

This solution is not viable for me.  I can't find a "more" at the bottom of my app.

I just checked on my iPhone and iPad where 'More' is shown at the bottom right. Are you using an Android device? Do you have the latest MFP app? There must be a setting screen and if so, is 'Steps' an option on which to click?

Yes, Android. Did as you said. Fitbit tracker is checked but still doesn't
work. Thanks for your input.

I can't imagine that there would be much difference between the iOS and Android app but you never know. On the MFP app, this is what I see when I click on 'More' at the bottom right. This isn't the entire list but I wanted you to see 'Steps'. Do you see the same options that I do when I click on 'More'?
