ONE Not tracking distance correctly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently ran a 5K race.  My Fitbit One recorded 2.39 miles rather than something close to 3.1 miles.  I have my correct height listed in my profile.  I wear the FitBit on my hip.  How can I get a more accurate distance on my Fitbit One when I run my next race?

Thank You

Did you set the stride? It will make it more accurate

Hey @Kris001 how are you doin' today? Definitely, I agree with @WendyB suggestion. Sometimes you need to adjust your stride length to get more accurate results regarding distance.

So if you have questions about how to do that, here you'll find step by steps instructions:

CALCULATING YOUR STRIDE LENGTH

To measure your walking stride length:
- Go to a track or some place where you're sure of the distance.
- Count your steps as you walk across that distance, making sure you travel at least 20 steps.
- Divide the total distance (in feet) taken by the number of steps to get your stride length.
- Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk.

CHANGING THE DEFAULT STRIDE LENGTH ON YOUR FITBIT ACCOUNT

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon User-added image
  2. Tap or click Advanced Settings.
  3. Tap or click Stride Length.
  4. Adjust your stride length.

Let me know the outcome!
