One - data from previous owner showing on my app

Hello,
New to Fitbit! Just received a One which was purchased on eBay. I installed the app on my phone, and it is already showing step, floor, distance data etc, and I have achieved a badge!
Obviously, I'd like to start from scratch from myself. How can I delete the previous owners data? And why has it done that when I've set up a brand new Fitbit account?
Thanks in advance!

Hello @CharleneE,

Welcome to the community!

You can delete the steps and flights of stairs by entering a driving activity.  However, that's not going to remove the badge awarded.

Pragmatically, these numbers are probably small enough that you should just take them and forget about it.  Once you're here long enough, the badges you get will simply accumulate in count.  For instance, I just checked and I've gotten the 10 floors badge 1300+ times.  Am I going to sweat it if I got this badge when I didn't earn it the very first day?  Probably not.

That said, if the badge is not one that you think you'd get naturally (like 250 flights of stairs), then the only way I know of to reset this is by either establishing a new account OR having Fitbit Support delete your account and creating it again.

I hope this helps.

@PureEvil After looking around the community site and several of your posts, it became obvious that you have a great deal of technical knowledge concerning Fitbit devices and have been Fitbiting for a long time. You've helped a great many people and I just wanted to ask you something. If I ever have any technical questions, would you help me out, even though we debated? I wanted to say that I really respect your committment to this community and to helping other users. Take care.

@chrisq2 Yep @PureEvil Is very helpful and knowledgeable. But Please do not seek one person to help you all the time. Many people help here and we help when we have time. Most of us do not have time to be a personal technical person.

Awww, thanks you guys, @WendyB and @PureEvil. I knew you were a good guy, despite your name. Why PureEvil by the way, if not too personal? You're not Evil at all.

@chrisq2,

Oh, I'm a bit of a prankster so some folks have joked that I'm pure evil.  I first signed in to this forum with a question, and PureEvil is a nickname that I've used on other online services (and seldom taken), so I figured it'd be easy to remember.  I didn't expect at the time that I'd be this active in this community.
