Why now do I HAVE to have my location turned on just to sync? It drains my phone battery and I simply will not leave it on... Any way to turn it off of location?

As one of the moderators explains in the thread below, this relates to a change Google made with the introduction of Android 6

As one of the moderators explains in the thread below, this relates to a change Google made with the introduction of Android 6
