User is not on line much, but enjoyed the weekly updates and friend, both of which have not updated for some time.  Tried turning off (pressing button 10-12 seconds) and restarting while linked to PC.  PC still does not reflect steps or syncing, but One does show steps.  Any ideas?

It really depends on how long its been.

 

It only holds data for so long

Holds data

Most trackers store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you have a Fitbit Alta™, your minute-to-minute data is stored for up to 5 days. If you wait longer than 7 days (5 days for Alta) before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data.
