I have a ONE and am experiencing the same issues with not syncing, poor battery life, etc. Something that I found may help you. Maybe not, but I thought I'd post it. I use the FitBit Android app and the Windows version as well. When my Android app is open on my phone, I cannot connect up to the ONE on Windows. The Android app needs to be closed for the discovery and sync on Windows. So if you have both a phone app and a desktop computer app, you might run into syncing problems if they are both active at the same time. Oddly, this doesn't seem to be an issue the other way around, with the Windows app being open not affecting the phone app's connectivity.
Whether the behavior above is normal or a bug, I don't know.
