Try a restart. Sometimes doing it a few times helps.

Best AnswerI'm having the same problem. Have been using FitBits since 2004, and I've always been happy with how they've functioned and recorded steps. Have had the One for a few years, and because it was suddenly not recording steps reliably, I replaced it with a brand new one, and I'm having the same problem.
I use the treadmill a lot, and it's a nice way to compare steps/miles with the FitBit during use. Again, the One was very reliable. Today, I did .5 miles on the treadmill, but the FitBit only recorded about half that distance. Since this is a brand new device, and the problems are the same as with the old one, clearly it's a bigger problem that I anticipated. Customer Support says I need to wear it somewhere else on my body to get a better reading, but I've always clipped it to my waistband with great success. Why I should suddenly need to place it elsewhere on my body after over a decade of success on my waistband is puzzling.
Best Answerthanks but have restarted multiple times and looked at bluetooth settings, everything suggested on here but to no avail. Very dissapointing,

Best AnswerI've noticed within the last 5 or 6 days that my FitBit One is tracking considerably less steps than it was before. I wear an Apple Watch as well and the step count prior to last weekend was only a difference of a hundred or so steps. But now the difference will be anywhere between 500-1300 steps. Feel like there was some sort of an update to FitBit One software that went wonky with accuracy!
