Re: Stair Count Inaccurate

I have a Fitbit One which I wear attached to my bra. Yesterday it recorded 18,907 steps and 225 floors during my 5 hour motorcycle ride. GeoTracker recorded my vertical acsent as 8418 ft. Would the Fitbit be more accurate if I wear it at my waist? Is there any way to turn off the altimeter or erase the floor data for certain times?

@RLSF Probably will not helo, the Fitbit One is picking up the bounces of the motorcycle.

You could log the time as motorcycle or download DriveBit or travrlbit that will automate the process

I also moved your post about the Fitbit One to the Fitbit One forum

It could be the wind too @RLSF, making the floor count even higher.

Is it possible to turn off your one before traveling?

To turn your One off and on:

  1. Before you leave put your One in the charging cable and plug it in.
  2. Hold the button for 12 seconds. The battery icon will disappear after about 5 seconds but keep holding the button a few seconds longer. Your One will turn off and you can remove it from the charging cable.
  3. To turn your One back on, press and hold the button for a few seconds when you get to your destination.

@wmchapman I wish it wasn't such a hassle to turn it off and on. I'm considering leaving it at home on ride days, and sacrificing the credit for steps and stairs I do when not on the bike.
