@cookarn For someone wearing a torso tracker like a One, I personally think it depends on how many time zones you are traveling, how long you will be gone, app tracking (MobileRun), sleep tracking, and how "vested" you are in steps matching the exact time they were taken.
Time zone shifts can cause data loss. Your Fitbit puts everything into a 24 hour day -- even if your travel just gave you a 27 hour day. Or a 21 hour day.
If your use is just plain counting steps, I don't think it is necessary. Your activity graph might record you as walking when you are not, but you get the data you want. But if you track and log activities, you want them to match.
