Syncing issues - Already went through the help topics

I have all day sync set up on my fitbit, but it still only syncs if I physically go in to my phone and into the app. While I don't have constant wifi access on my phone, I do when I'm at home or at work. Also, syncing weekly does not work, if I don't remember to sync by midnight, all data is lost, if this wasn't a problem, the first issue wouldn't even bother me. Has anyone else with similar issues been able to resolve this?

Welcome aboard to our Community @Verold, I see on your subject that you have tried all the help topics. I usually have my Fitbit App set in "All Day Sync" with mobile data, but It doesn't sync as I don't like to have my bluetooth on all the time as I believe it consume more quickly the battery on my phone. So bottom line have you check if the bluetooth on your phone is "On" while you have access to Wifi?

This might be one of the reason, otherwise I recommend a force quit the app. The easy way to do this is by restarting your phone. Preferably if you can, before you proceed, log out from your Fitbit app and when you have restarted the phone sign back on your Fitbit app.

Note that if your tracker is not syncing your data, your tracker have the ability to store at least 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. Summary data (calories, distance, and steps) will be stored for the trailing 30 days.

Let me know  how it goes, I'll be around in the Community.

Remember that your tracker won't sync if you don't have Internet access, so maybe your tracker is only syncing when you have access to Wi Fi.

Now as for the data in your tracker, as my friend @RobertoME mentioned, all fitbit trackers hold 7 days of detail steps, this would be the step count for every minute, and another 23 days of total daily step count. Therefore you have 168 hours to Sync before you lose the your fitness logs, and 720 hours before data starts getting lost.

I hope this clarifies your concern. Let me know if you are experiencing other issues when syncing. Smiley Wink

It's not a case of my tracker only syncing when I have internet access, I don't expect it to sync when I'm not connected to the internet. The problem is, even when I'm connected to the internet, which is pretty much all day, the tracker won't sync automatically, only if I physically go into the app and make it sync, even though I have all day sync turned on.

Also, as I said before, the above syncing issue wouldn't even bother me if not for the fact that even though everything says that the tracker is supposed to hold 7 days worth of steps, if I don't sync before midnight, I lose all of that day's tracking information. My fitbit seems to reset the step counts at midnight, and if I didn't sync at all the day before, my app thinks I didn't walk or wear my tracker that day. And yes, I've tried resetting my fitbit.

This is a big problem to me. I had counted data on my Fitbit One screen that never synced and Fitbit help has no way of telling me how to retrieve that data.

If that is true, how come I lost data from 2 days that I could see recorded on my Fitbit One screen. I feel like this 7 day data save isn't true.

If you say your tracker isn't syncing throughout the day, do you have All day sync enabled?

Now if the tracker just doesnt want to sync,  i would restart the Phone and the tracker. Put the One into its charger, that's plugged in, then hold the buttun until the Fitbit logo shows.

Hi there @Verold and @Egodfemme. Thanks for the update and taking in consideration this. I have to agree with @Rich_Laue and his suggestions.

If the issue still persist I recommend to set up the tracker as a new device. It may vary depending of the device it being used, but the process is almost the same as the first time was set up, only this time is require to choose you are setting up on an existing account.

If you are doping this on a PC:

  1. Click the Fitbit Connect icon located near the date and time on your computer. User-added image
  2. Click Open Main Menu...
  3. Click Set Up A New Fitbit Device.
  4. Click Existing User and log in to your account.
  5. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

If is the app it may slight change between iOS or Android:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account (iOS) or the three bars in the corner (Android) tab.
  2. Tap Devices and here should be a + icon to Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

I hope this helps, catch ya later fellows.
