I've had my Fitbit One for a month and it has worked well until today.

I walked a mile and Fitbit recorded 7 miles. Steps seem ok but mileage way over. Any advice please

Welcome to the forums!

Try a restart. Do it at least 3 times.

Try lengthening your stride.  May have to adjust it a few times until the distance gets "close".......  I need to decrease my stride since it's reading 1.45 on a 1.7 mile walk.  Not bad,   but I want to get it as close as I can...

Edit:  Tested it last nite,  I need to do just the opposite as I posted.  I need to increase my stride to add steps.  When I decreased the stride,  I had less steps for the distance above.......

Thanks for the suggestion, the recstart worked a treat and I'm up and walking correctly again.

Thanks.

@Sarawati I hope you're doing well! I'm very glad to hear that the suggestion made by @WendyB about restarting your One worked properly and that you are back on track. I marked her post as an accepted solution so other users may benefit from it.

Also, the suggestion made by @SwanDog about adjusting your stride length is very useful as well to better the distance tracked.

Now that you are back on track, take a look at the Discussions Board as you will find a lot of interesting things there. Feel free to post on any thread you want. If you are looking for Fitbit friends to compete with on challenges, check this thread to add some!

See you around! Smiley Happy

My Alta adds about 2 extra hours after I get home after walking. At first it shows mileage that matches my steps then after I check after a little bit, while sitting, 2 extra miles are added.

I've already tried the reset 3 times recommendation but it doesn't fix the problem.
