I just got a Fitbit One for Christmas, because it (supposedly) counts stairs and it is small. I'd been happy with my Omron pedometer, but it doesn't count stairs and is a bit bulky. I have been using the Fitbit for a few days now and am NOT HAPPY with the recording results. It's giving me steps I never took, for one thing. Also, the stairs recorder seems to be pretty much useless! This weekend I walked up four flights of stairs at my sister's apartment building several times, and it didn't record any of them! This morning I haven't walked any stairs, and it says I've done 10!! I'm thinking my husband wasted our money on the Fitbit gift, and I should have stuck with my Omron! It seemed much more accurate with the steps, too! I think Fitbit One should eliminate the stairs tracker, since it doesn't record correctly, and then we won't be frustrated with it!! Any real, workable suggestions before I decide to dump the Fitbit?

Floors you must go up 10 ft in elevation for it to record a floor. And how many is it counting? Is it that really a big of deal?
I compared my Omron to the one for a long time and they matched step wise.
Have you set your stride under settings?

I'm going to wear both the Omron and the One all day tomorrow and see how they compare. I have done the stride setting for my Omron but not yet for the One. I'll do that tomorrow, too. Thanks for the reminder to do that! 🙂
