Hi,
My FitBit One went through the wash and dry cycle. I tried the bag of rice remedy. Make a long story short, it doesn't work. I contacted customer support and they thanked me for doing the troubleshooting but said they won't replace it since I washed it.
When I asked why people in the forums are saying it was replaced for free, they said, "Only trackers covered by our Fitbit protection plan, can be replaced for these kind of situations, and this feature can be added by the time you're purchasing a tracker through fitbit.com."
My question is -of the people reading this who had theirs replaced by fitbit, did you have the protection plan? Or was it replaced because you got the right support person?
Thanks,
Larry

I shall watch this thread with interest. I know that a few years back fitbit were more generous with their replacements, often replacing damaged or even lost fitbits but I thought that for some time now they have been consistently following their warranty terms ( www.fitbit.com/returns ) which have the exclusion clause "accident, abuse, misuse, mishandling, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes"
What they do normally do is offer a discount towards a new purchase for those out of warranty. Did you get this offer?
