I used to sync my One to the desktop for about a year then got a new phone and used that instead.  Have tried to use the desktop client this morning and found that it has disappeared!  Have reinstalled to my computer but every time I click "Run" in the installing box nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community @njh1961! This sounds supper weird! Can you please check that you are using this www.fitbit.com/start.  Also, you can double check the re-installation process step by step in this article

I hope this helps, please keep me posted with the outcome! 😉

The Fitbit Connect programme is not in my Control Panel/Programmes!  So there is nothing to uninstall, it used to be there but one of my family may have deleted it by "accident".  I have downloaded it again and it is in my "Dell" file but when I look in the Control Panel/programmes section it is not there.  It looks like it has downloaded onto my computer but not installed.  I double click on it and the box with the "Run" button appears, I click Run, the box disapears and nothing happens.  I am totally stumped as to what is going wrong!

Hi @njh1961. Nothing is wrong, don't worry. Which operating system are you running on your Dell?

Are you sure you downloaded the correct application?

Windows PC for a pc running Win 8 and earlier version.

Win 10 for a PC running Windows 10.

If you downloaded Fitbit Connect for a Windows PC, all you need to do is find the the application package in your 'Downloads' on your computer and click on it to install it. It's that simple.

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

Hi TandumWalker,

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium so have downloaded Windows PC. When the box with "Run" appears I click Run and the box disappears and nothing happens.

I have also tried doing it all with the Firewall and Antivirus turned off.

Could it be the dongle is not working? How do I test it? Not going to pay £16.99 for a new one and then find that it is not the problem.

I can use the app on my phone to sync but now can only use the PC to charge my One.

Getting REALLY annoyed to be honest.

Hello @njh1961,

Something just occured to me.  Fitbit Connect does require you to authorize the installation.  Is there any chance that you have an icon in the taskbar that looks like a little shield that is flashing?  If so, then click on it, and there's a good chance that it'll ask you to authorize the Fitbit install.

I hope this helps.

Hello PureEvil,

The only shield I have is the McAfee antivirus, and its not flashing. I have also tried turning it off and doing it.  There must be something wrong with my computer or someone has changed a setting.

Fitbit Connect is in my Downloads file as an application and is 33,276KB.

I dont understand why when I click on "Run" the box just disappears and nothing happens.  Usually you get a box telling you something is wrong. Its like I clicked on Cancel instead of Run!

Hi @njh1961. Not as simple as I thought it would be. You click on Start - All Programs, of course Fitbit Connect is not there right?

I haven't use earlier version of Windows in a long time. But I remember being able to run MSCONFIG from the RUN command. This would allow you to temporarily remove all the start-up programs and reboot your compouter with nothing loading upfront. Then located the Fitibit Connect program again and try running it. If the program installs, then I'd suggest running MSCONFIG again and restore your earlier configuration.

Do you have administrator privileges on that PC? Have you been able in the past to install other programs without any difficulty? Is there another application that you once had on your PC that you've deleted that you could use as a test - if this other application installs, then at least it narrow it down to Fitbit Connect and nothing else at your end in terms of settings.

When you look at your Firewall settings, does Fitbit Connect show up in the list of programs and if so, do the flags assigned to it make sense in relation to other apps listed?

I have now tried:

Click on Start - enter into search RUN, press enter.

Box appears with:

Open:- Downloads\FitbitConnect_Win_20151028_2.0.1.6742.exe  and three buttons underneath:

OK, Cancel and Browse.

I click on OK....... box disappears and nothing happens!!!!!!!!!!!
