I found an after market wrist band that you can use if a fit bit one to wear it on your wrist like a charge. Just wondering if wearing it on my wrist will adversely effect how it counts steps

It will still count steps but it will not be as accurate. It will also probably get the calorie burn data wrong as it will think it's your torso moving the way your wrist is moving. The algorithms used by fitbit assume the One is clipped close to the body and that's the best way to wear it.
