holding button down on One and nothing happens ...

I went through the set up and the One shows up on my list of devices.  It is charged all the way.  So, I hold the button down (on the One) and nothing happens.  Nothing shows.  I plugged it in to the charger and held the button down until it shows the Fitbit 6.60 but nothing after that.  Black screen.  What am I doing wrong ??  😞

When off the charger hold down the button and you should get a buzz an see the stop watch going.

Is this not happening?

I usually don't post in forums like this but I feel the need to comment. I bought a Zip just over a year ago and like it well enough but don't think it always counts all my steps. I decided to upgrade to something that would count stairs and sleep but I don't want to wear the tracker on my wrist. I purchased the One online through a company other than Fitbit. It arrived yesterday I followed all the steps but when I took it out of the charger nothing showed. I went through all the trouble shooting steps. Nothing. I contacted customer service chat this morning. They talked me through things. Nothing worked.  Bottom line They are sending a replacement (which as already shipped). I don't have to send anything back. I didn't even buy it directly from Fibbit. I felt  it was great coustomer service. I don't like dealing with tech support but they were great.
