Active Minutes Not Tracking

Hi, this is more feedback to Fitbit rather than a question, as I have seen a few threads on here with this same issue. So I noticed my Fitbit wasn’t tracking active minutes unless my arm was constantly moving, but if I have chosen the “workout” setting, then my arm is not constantly moving as certain workouts I do consist of short 10-30 second breaks and not all exercises involve moving my arms. The only time it gets frustrating is when I’m time constrained and need to just get a workout done and when after 40mins of working out it’s only registered say 30, I then have to add another 10mins on and make sure I’m constantly moving my arm, so it can pick up I’m still working out. I think when you are exercising in the “workout” setting the active minutes should start from when you start the workout and as long as your heart rate is elevated for most of the duration of the workout, then all those minutes from when you manually start and finish your workout should count.

This app is all about making easy to track progress and kick goals, so I don’t feel like you should have to manually enter your active minutes or that if you’ve done the minutes it shouldn’t matter what the app says because that is the whole point of the tracker and app, to visually reward you for reaching your goals. Otherwise what was the point of buying it.

To get "active minutes" the key is maintaining a certain level of intensity for at least ten minutes straight, without regard to whether or not it is a "workout".  For instance you might be doing a workout of exercising hard for 8 minutes, then rest for 2 minutes, then hard again.  If you heart rate drops enough in that rest period, the negates getting any "active minutes".

What are active minutes?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
