I purchased 2 new Charge 2s from Fitbit in April of 2017. 2 months ago my band completely fell off the right side of my Fitbit and the problem wouldn’t correct, initially I thought I must have gotten a bad band and bought myself a new one. Last week my mother’s Charge 2 fell off and disconnected at the band as well... so I no longer believe this was a “coincidence” I believe it’s a design flaw with the band itself. I opened a case and will see what happens. Proceed with caution mine fell off in a target and thankfully someone turned it in instead of taking it...

@KMS82 Depending where you are in the world, you may still be under warranty. I would suggest contacting Customer Support to see if they are able to offer anything.
