Battery Draining Quickly

Hi, I have had my Charge 2 for about two and a half years now and over the past few months, I have noticed that the battery will drain from 100% to 0% in less than a day.  I have looked at other comments in the community posts about this same problem and I have done what they suggested which has helped some but my battery will still be drained after a little over a day.  Is this simply because I have had this device for so long and the battery life has diminished or something else?

can I replace the battery or will I just need to buy a new one?

My battery was dying in less than an hour.  I did the above, now it's holding a charge like normal.  My last full charge lasted 7 days.
