My wife has bought a new Charge 4 to replace her old Charge 2. I have deleted the old 2 from her account and successfully added the new Charge 4. When I try to sync the app says it has synced successfully , but the steps haven't recorded and the fitbit has a continually scrolling message saying download or update the app. She doesn't possess a smartphone and has always (successfully) used the WIndows 10 app which is installed on a laptop. NOt sure what to do. I couldn't find out how to update the app on the laptop.

I am surprised at that - I have a Charge 4 which works on my Windows PC!

Thanks for getting back to us and for your comments regarding using a Charge 4 with a Windows PC @AndyBebb.
Sep process must be followed with a compatible mobile device. Then you can sync your tracker with the PC. It will work some times but we can't assure that it will be permanent.
