Hello!

When I plug in my charge 2 into the charger it starts to charge then in a few minutes shows full battery. I take it off charger (hr lights are blinking and watch face is working) after 3 mins it goes dead. And won’t turn on again.

I went to forums to troubleshoot . I’ve cleaned connectors, I’ve reset the Fitbit multiple times, I’ve tried charging on usb with computer and also with two different wall plugs. Nothing works. This has been going on for 3 days now.

I am very frustrated. Please help.

Thank you

Shawna

Contact Customer Support.

I did contact support, the agent was very kind and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with. Unfortunately they couldn’t help because I’m over year warranty by a couple of months. They did offer 25% off a new device but that doesn’t work for me.  I was bummed because I’ve been such an avid Fitbit user and promoter. I am on my second Fitbit as I chose to upgrade to charge 2 from charge HR. However, if I am going to have to spend $100 plus every year to year and a half due to the device “dying” or being incapable to holding a charge,  I don’t see the benefit to staying with Fitbit vs something else that I know will last long term. I am very disappointed that the device stopped working and hope Fitbit can create a model that lasts longer in the future. As for now I’ll be moving on to other providers. I’ll miss ya Fitbit community!

I can understand how you feel!  I upgraded the charge HR to Charge 2 as well... My charge 2 is about a year and a half old and is starting to burn the battery more and get a bit testy when charging.

I bought 2 accessory bands (including the overpriced leather band) for the Charge 2 and am torn with the idea of buying another so the accessory bands don't go to waste or waiting to see what the next version of Charge will be like.

I too have the Charge 2 and just today the battery died. Charged it and 3 min. later dead! Are you kidding me....Fitbit doesn't back their product! Seems like there is a trend after 1 1/2 years! Not buying another.

I ended up moving to Apple Watch! So far I’m happy and it’s actually more accurate data. It did take a bit to get used to but if you download HealthView, HeartWatch and AutoSleep apps- it’s great! . All the info from the other apps falls into the HealthView app which is very similar to Fitbit in style. 🙂

I heard Apple Watch will be creating challenges between users in the fall too! So it will be very similar to Fitbit experiences (and then some with all the added features) by then.

Good luck! I hope Fitbit creates better products in the future!

I’ll be purchasing an Apple Watch as well.  I am so disappointed that my charge 2 didn’t last and Fitbit won’t stand behind a product they know won’t last more then a year.  Buyer beware!

shows full charge and depletes immediately.

same problem with my charge 2 as well after it worked for 1 and half year or so...

I thought it to be a premium product compared to all the chinese products avail in market which are much cheap.

But very sorry to say this product has such a short life even after paying so much.

And they have no solutions for this .

if this is the way , these products wont stand much in market..

Doesn't the device have a 2 year limited warranty.  My charge he died also.  I ecieved excellent service from the team and a 50% discount on the charge 2.

I have 4 old fitbit now hanging around due to battery, however something so small and charged each week will eventually die.   I would love if they made it with a potential battery replacement like a normal watch.

When I called the customer service was great but they said the charge 2 had a year warranty and only offered 25% off a new one.

My best friends charge 2 also recently turned a year and a half and died completely as well.

I agree an option of replacing battery would be a helpful solution for Fitbit users with this issue.

Very good points... I've been meaning to check out the AmazFit Bip Smartwatch by Huami with All-Day Heart Rate and Activity Tracking, Sleep Monitoring, GPS, Ultra-Long Battery Life, Bluetooth, US Service and Warranty and a reported battery life of 30 DAYS...

It stacks up well very against other watches even the Apple Watch and can be had on sale for ONLY $79.99 🙂

Got the same problem.

Had Charge 2 for ~ 2.5 years (upgrade bought from Fitbit on Guarantee as replacement for Charge 1 which broke within a year).

Suddenly in the middle of the night battery went to zero charge.

Left it on charge for 30 minutes and says 100% charged.

Within 5 minutes, back to ZERO charge.

Repeated the process several times, same result.

Tried full re-set. Same result.

Guess there is a battery problem.

That is the end of my relationship with Fitbit alas.  I love the HR monitor, love the sleep stats, but I cannot afford a new device every 2 years.

UPDATE: After staying with fitbit one more time cause got an old cheap Apple Watch but thought it's screen was too small...

THEN, after NEW fitbit band broke AGAIN I tried the Apple Watch one more time and turns out you set set clock face to be large AND it seemed I needed readers LOL Anyway, haven't thought twice about this old fitbit but just got an email update from this blog so thought I'd share 🙂
Peace!
