Charge 2 recording too many steps

My Charge 2 has randomly tracked over 40,000 steps this morning - without having put on the tracker. I noticed this after updating software on my Samsung s10 when I picked up my charged 2.

I've barely done 2000 steps according to my phone pedometer.  

Is there any way to re-set the steps without having to do a full factory reset? 

I have already:

1.restarted the tracker using the steps on the forum

2.Restarted my phone

3.Uninstalled and reinstalled the app 

4.Removed tracker from app and added it as a device again. 

5. Unpaired and resynced to Bluetooth 

 

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Mine has done this to me this morning too - I posted separately about it.  I don't wear it overnight - find it too uncomfortable; put it on this morning to find it had registered nearly 15k steps just sitting on the cabinet charging!
