My wife's Charge 2 screen went off on Christmas day, exactly 3 years from new. Is it only designed to 3 years.

No, @Ap73 , it is not designed that way. Have you tried restarting it? Instructions are here.

This happened to me also - exactly 3 years after purchase. Restart did not work
