My ancient charge 2 suddenly stopped working today. It was charged yesterday, synced fine this morning but stopped recording data somewhere around 10.00am. The screen is black, the green lights are still flashing and is still recording calories though not steps or heart rate. It doesn't acknowledge the charging cable and won't sync. I know I am charging more frequently these days but it was still working. Cannot seem to factory reset either unless I'm doing it wrong. Is it now defunct or can it be revived.

Hello @Alidandy and welcome to the Community. You can try restarting your tracker, but the Charge 2 doesn’t have a factory reset option. I think you have a device failure. The calories will continue to track, because you are seeing your BMR calories.

How do I restart it? Though I suspect it is dead. Maybe time to stop stressing about my poor sleep and the need to keep getting up to walk when commanded and just take life as it comes.

@Alidandy You put a Charge 2 in its charging cable in a power source. The manual says to hold the button for four seconds until it vibrates and you see the Fitbit logo.

Thank you, already tried that, nothing at all happens, the little green lights have also now stopped, so assuming it is dead. Good while it lasted but am going back to a good old fashioned watch. Thank you for trying to help.

Mine is in the bin, presumed terminal. Nothing lasts forever and had it for many years. I am no longer a slave to it's demands. It wasn't knocked, dropped or anything, it died while wearing it. I have dragged an old watch out of retirement and am just relying on good old common sense for my exercise. Think you may need to buy a new one if you want to carry on recording data.
