I read a number of comments and resolutions from customer service to correct my dim and unreadable Charge 3 screen. It is still dim and unreadable! It seems this is a huge problem from the number of comments on the same issue. What recourse do I have?

I also have this issue and it has progressed down the face of the screen over this past week to the point that I can't read anything. It still synchronizes with my phone.
This is a replaced Charge 3 that I received a year ago with that had a synch issue that couldn't be resolved.
I've charged it and held the button in while on the charger. The only problem is now I can't see the smiley face. Since I'm not getting the screen back I'm assuming it's not working. I've been using the free premium service which I was going to keep using, but I have until the 12th to cancel.
I never had issues with my Garmin.
