Charge 3 - Screen extremely Dim and auto off screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi, my husband just bought a Charge 3 brand new. He bought a older version because I don’t need all the other new functions. The screen is extremely dim pretty much unseeable on both Auto and Normal settings. And it does auto off screen without touching it. Please help. I don’t want to have disappointment on the product. Thanks !

"And it does auto off screen without touching it."  I don't understand that part.  Do you mean the screen display turns off after several seconds?  If so, that is expected behavior to save battery.

As for dim screen, make sure you are not in 'Sleep Mode'.  You can check this in 'Quick Settings' by pressing the side buttons for a few seconds, then scroll up or down to 'Sleep Mode'.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Rachel_Low and thanks for your assistance @JohnnyRow. I'm sorry to hear your Charge 3 screen is too dim.

If you already checked @JohnnyRow's advise you can try restarting your Charge 3 to make the screen brighter:

On Fitbit Charge 3, you can restart your tracker from your wrist. Open the Settings app and tap About:  Reboot Device.

If your Charge series tracker is unresponsive: .

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Disconnect your tracker from the charging cable.

Your tracker should now work normally. If your tracker still doesn't work after a restart, contact Customer Support.

Hi, doesn’t seem to work and still very dim after rebooting the watch. It’s totally not visible in the day time under the sun light.  Also the battery drained from 100% to 78% in less than 30mins. It is supposed to last for 7 days according to the product information. This seem to be a defect product. Will contact the customer support. Thanks.

Umm, my screen went from being too dim at time to I can never see it anymore, even in a dark room. How can I do this reboot if I can't see the screen to check settings.  I know it is working as a tracker, as it syncs to my phone.
