Charge 3 battery and screen issues

Went to charge my fit it as it was low, plugged it in and didn't get the normal vibration, I left it for a few minutes and pushed the button expecting to see it charging.... nothing, took it of charge, cleaned the contacts on the cradle and on the fit bit, as suggested on the forum and plugged it back in to charge. Had on charge overnight, in the morning showed full, by midday, it showed as 4% battery, I had not even looked at the time on it, within 20 minutes it was completely flat, put it back on charge, as I did so I had a smiley face and a vibration, when I took it out of the cradle all I got was a black screen and white lines going across the screen, plugged it into my laptop and got the top part of a battery showing along with white lines, this is less than a year old..... What is my next step?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Karina53.

I am sorry to hear about the battery and screen issues you're experiencing with your Charge 3. Thanks for trying to resolve this, I appreciate the additional details and I am here to help. I recommend trying the following:

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
  3. Long restart:
  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

For tips to prevent battery drain, please see this help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

Additionally, I recommend checking if your Fitbit app is updated to the latest version as updates come with new features and bug fixes: How do I update the Fitbit app?

Keep me posted on the outcome.
