Charge 3 black screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Its been a couple months since I've used my fitbit charge 3 as I needed to replace my band.

I connected to charger and it started charging but the screen was black. I tried restarting it but pressing the left button while on charge until it restarts but still the screen was black.

The firmware updated but I couldnt get the screen to come back not did changing the clock.

I then unpaired my fitbit hoping I can get it to work then. When it tried to pair though I couldn't get the 4 digit code as the screen stayed black. I dont know what else to do. I can pair it to anything, all I can do is keep resetting it which does nothing

I don't think it's just your problem. I was using it normally this morning but now the screen won't work. Sensors are working, I can feel the side button registering, but black screen too.

It's incredibly convenient that just after a new version is released, my Charge 3 that has been working totally fine all of a sudden dies these last 2 days. I can't get it to sync or do more than flash the happy face screen for a few seconds. Less than 2 years old!

Blank screen

My c3 has a blank screen. It was working fine and all of a sudden the screen goes out! I tried using all the troubleshooting methods I've seen posted on here. Still NOTHING!

I can't help but be a little suspicious that the c4 just came out and this happens. From reading the reviews of the c4 looks like this is also a common occurrence with those devices as well. Mine is a little over a year old.

No one seems to getting back to anyone. Terrible customer service.

100% agree with @BeatRobot - I've been on multiple community boards that all report the same issues. None of the 'fixes' work at all - customer service is horrendous. It's obvious there's a system-wide issue with the app yet they are incapable of fixing it - sending us on a wild goose chase. Someone needs to get fired.

Experiencing a very similar issue to all those who have commented here. I woke up this morning and the screen on my Fitbit was black. I can hold the side button down for about 10 seconds and get a small line on one edge of the screen, but that goes away quickly. I've also tried putting it on the charger, syncing to the app, etc. and nothing's changing the blank/black screen.

Have the same problem. My charge 3 still syncs to the app, but its a black screen. Just called customer service and all they can do is provide discounts towards next purchase since I just came out of warranty. This sounds deliberate on fitbit’s end.

I noticed the screen was black this afternoon. The green sensor on the back works and I get a vibrate when I touch the side. But no screen activity. The app says its fully charged.

No idea what I am supposed to try to sort ot out, though by these other comments seems there's not much point.

If your fitbit is still under warranty, you can get a replacement. Before they issue a replacement they attempt a soft reset, and then a hard reset. Neither worked for me.

I also find this extremely convenient that just as a brand new product launches, my fitbit suddenly stops working. It worked fine this afternoon, then all of a sudden stopped for seemingly no reason. I tried changing the clock faces and also resetting the device with no luck. Then I foolishly disconnected the device from the Fitbit app, and cannot see the 4 digit pin to re-pair device! I have cancelled my Fitbit Premium subscription and this will be my last fitbit device.

I agree, and I also think it may be just too suspicious... there are way too many reports of problems with monitors that are working fine and suddenly, just after an “update” and a new version coming out, just stop working... and no one seems to know why or how to fix it... and the most Customer service can do is give you a discount on a new one. Well, not me! If I buy a new monitor, it will not be Fitbit! I rather spend my money or even more on o e that will last longer!!
