Charge 3 blank screen

My Charge 3 has a blank screen. I am unable to see anything. I have restarted it several times as suggested in other threads, and I can get the smiley face icon. But after that nothing.  It still transmits information to my app but is pretty useless as a watch or tracker. Is it time to replace it or can anyone offer a solution please?

I'm sorry to say that I have two Charge 3 trackers and both failed. On my first Charge 3, I noticed one defective pixel after only a few months of normal use. More and more pixels failed and the ones that lit up got dimmer and dimmer. I couldn't even see the screen in the dark. It barely lasted 9 months.

I regret wasting more money on a second Charge 3. I purchased an extended warranty for that one, but the same thing happened. It only lasted about 27 months, of course it failed after the warranty expired.

I contacted customer service and received this reply:

would like to apologize for these inconveniences. It's only a very small percentage of products that actually experience such anomalies. When such anomalies do occur though, we always make sure our developers team is informed about all occurrences and discrepancies, so that we can keep moving forward in improving our products and services.

Please let me know your country of residence and the place you bought your Fitbit.

I submitted the requested info and received this reply:

I've added that information to my notes. A special team will review the options for your case and they will be contacting you via email with a resolution. They will contact you through the email address associated to your Fitbit account, within the next 12 to 24 hours.

I was never contacted by the specialist team. I had to focus on higher priority tasks and didn't have time to follow up.

Based on comments here and other sources, the dim/blank screen seems to be a common problem with Charge 3 and later models. A very small percentage?  My current tracker is a Garmin. I hope it will last longer than the Fitbit trackers.
