Charge 3 display getting dim

My Fitbit Charge 3 display is very dim, intact it is unreadable outside and not easy inside. Help please. How can I make it brighter. I have tried setting it to Normal and Auto... but it occasionally becomes brighter but then goes dim.

I have tried everything you guys have suggested for my dimming charge 3 that is not even 2 years old.  Nothing works!  I can only throw it in the garbage at this point. I was told by customer service that I was pretty much screwed. I will never again buy or recommend a fitbit product.
