Charge 3 display not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Mine started this yesterday. I’m so frustrated. I’ve tried a hard reset and it didn’t help. It seems like as soon as they are out of warranty they quit. I’m not sure I can afford to keep buying new ones.

My Charge 3 display is not working. It has vertical lines through the screen and it's draining the battery really fast. I tried a reset, changed the clock face, and did a long reset. The lines are still there. I purchased it on February 4, 2020. Is it possible to get a replacement? This is the fourth Fitbit I've purchased.

I need help. This is my third Fitbit in less than 5 years. Fitbit charge 3 now. Noticed the screen was off centered. Then I just got flickering lights throughout. I plugged in charger and did hard test multiple times. Got the happy face off center screen and for a few moments saw screen. Now black screen and not resetting. I do t even get my Fitbit wet!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @dmgnp.

Thank you for joining the thread and sharing the details of the issue with your Charge 3 screen. I appreciate your efforts to resolve this, I totally understand how you are feeling and I am here to help. I recommend doing the following:

  1. Please confirm the steps to restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
  3. Long restart:
  • Connect the device to the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration
  • The device turns off.
  • The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  • Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you for your response. I managed to restart again and am able to see
screen again. I can also change the clock faces.
How do I get the screen to stay on longer? It use to just turn on when I
moved my hand to read it but now I have to constantly tap the screen to see
it
Appreciate support!

Hi @dmgnp, thank you for your reply.

I am glad to hear you can see the screen on your Charge 3 now. Thank you for posting the update here. I understand your concern about the screen wake feature when you can wake up the screen by turning your wrist. I recommend checking if this feature is turned on: press and hold the button and you can tap Screen Wake setting to confirm it's turned on.

screen wake is on. only last 4-5 seconds. Does not come on when I turn my
wrist. Even though I can now see my screen- it is not centered and when I
try to swipe with my finger to get to another feature I lose everything
again and have to plug back in and restart. I;m starting to believe that
somehow as well as I have taken care of this fitbit- it has a defect of
some sort.
Here is the display now..
