Charge 3 flickering and vibrating

My Charge 3 just keeps flickering between the "Screen Wake" settings screen and the "Home Screen (Clock)" while vibrating as it goes back and fourth. I have tried rebooting it while connected to the charger but it gives me the horizontal status bar as it reboots. I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling as well as reconnecting but I'm at a point now where I can't do much as the device is just cycling through screens and vibrating uncontrollably.  Also tried wiping it down to make sure there wasn't a fingerprint or something on the screen or sensor. No luck there. Ideas on if its defective and what I can do to resolve?
