Charge 3 losing steps after syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Every time I synch my Fitbit Charge 3, I lose hundreds of steps. It’s gone from over 10,000 today to less than 9,000. I walked for an hour this evening and no active minutes are recorded. I have rebooted five times. Phone, too. Turned off Bluetooth, turned it back on. Forgotten and reinstalled. Logged out/back in the apo. Nothing is working.

Hi there @Lisa1168, welcome to the Community Forums. hanks for bringing this to my attention. This is an unusual situation as your Charge 3 shouldn't delete any step when syncing. I appreciate you've taken the time to troubleshoot this inconvenience prior to contacting us.

To further investigate, have you seen a smiley face icon displayed on your tracker when this happens? Also, have you manually logged an activity that may decrease your step count?

If you remember the exact amount of steps or the name of the activity you performed, you can try manually logging the activity. To get more information about this, check the article: Can I add an activity manually to my Fitbit account?

Additionally, it'd be great to take a look at: How do Fitbit devices sync their data? to get more information about how your Charge 3 syncs.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Hello 🙂

I have read many posts with similar issues but none of them have actually resolved my issue. After some debugging/guessing i found, that, within this panel:
https://www.fitbit.com/activities
There was an activity which has been overwriting all of my steps with "entire day" activity, which looked like this:

Walk2,2371.73 kilometers24:00:004,169 cals

View Details

(Sorry, cannot post images)

In my case, it was import from Apple Health.

View details button, causes "Oops! Something's not right..." message, so i decided to just remove this particular activity, which finally resolved my issue - or so i think, i am not sure if it won't come back tomorrow.

Maybe it will help you somehow 🙂

Hi!

This happened again last week. I had 13,000 steps, synced, and it went to
2,000. I wasn’t trying to manually log anything. I have also noticed that
it doesn’t always recognize when I have been active for more than 30
minutes. I do all the things to correct it. It works for a few days, but
then doesn’t. It just seems buggy in general.
