Went on a walk this morning on a 4 mile marked trail, both ways 8 miles total.  Fitbit only days 4.85 miles and yesterday went on same trail 6 miles total.  I got more steps going 6 miles than 8 !  What’s going on?

A couple questions @Free24

You title mentions step count problems, are your steps being accurately counted,

Your post is only speaking of distance, have you setup your stride?

Yes I have set up my stride. It tracked 4.85 miles with 11,885 steps so I’m assuming it’s about to be steps per mile. So yes I was off probably 2200 steps as well as the 1.15 mile
I’ll have to go edit my question because I thought that the trail was 4 miles each way and we went 8 miles I Google searched it and it said it was only 6 miles. So it was only off by 1.15 miles. I did have an issue yesterday where I did a work out and it only counted one hour and 21 minutes of a two hour workout. And even though I try to change theThe time to edit the workout time if it’s still a loss that those 39 minutes. Because the start time says 707 and in time 9:07 AM which was correct but if you look at my impact it said one hour and 21 minutes I don’t know why it did that this is the first time I’ve had an issue with the tracking correctly. I did reset my Fitbit twice and I also updated it yesterday so I’m hopingThat takes care of the problems. But this morning it didn’t track my distance correctly. Unless it’s just going by my stride and that’s how we came up with the shorter distance.

Having the same issues - right after I updated my tracker. I ran a 4.5 today and got 5.85. And when you go to edit it will not save. Of course its saying I ran way faster than I did as well. This is not helpful at all. I thought that was the point of the tracker?!

It seems to still get steps or walks correctly, just the runs. And seems to be worse when I use the feature on the tracker to track it.

Another issue is the buzzer for reminder to move or half of a run isn't working but the 10k steps or 20k steps is and the alarms so I know it basically works. What gives?

Fitbit is great most of the time but this new problem is making me think I need a different tracker.
