My Charge 3 screen is excessively dim, even with a full charge. I've tried restarting it with no result. It will occasionally come on bright but after a few seconds it's dim again and I can't get it back. This is indoors and is still difficult to read. Outside with any amount of sunlight, it's impossible to read.

This is clearly a common issue, but my screen is so dim that I can't even see it in a completely dark room. Additionally, I've stopped getting my notifications and can no longer change my silent alarms, since they need to be done from the Charge 3 and no from the app (that changed a month or so ago.
Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Same thing here, I had the charge 2 it died, bestbuy replaced it under the warranty program with a charge 3 and now this one is so dim I can't even see it completely useless. I've tried all the reset junk on here and nothing helps. Done with fitbit.

I contacted Fitbit with the same issue. I have had it 1 year and 4 months. They told me it's out of warranty and they would give me 30% off of a new one. Why would I spend a dime on something that is not design to last even a year and a half?? I hope your new one continues to work!

But why would this happen overnight with a fully charged Fitbit Charge 3?
I need help and it is not the brightness.

Hey @Fitbit Admins and product managers, isn’t the following 24 pages of complaints enough for you to actually do something about this now? Isn’t there enough evidence that you have released a faulty product, and that those who have purchased (and can prove the fault) deserve some type of response, and/or compensation?

Thanks. That worked for me. When you’re swiping to settings folks, swipe right, not down.

I went to settings on my Charge 3 and went to settings but did not even see "Brightness" as an option to select.

Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem but now it's almost impossible to see the screen, even in the dark. I've tried changing the settings, restarting, going in to DH to change the moon face (?) to no avail. As I say I now can't see any display.
This is a replacement charge 3 which was sent October 2019. While I appreciate the last time, I'm less impressed by the quality of the device itself. It seems to have a fair number of problems.

Fitbit never did a thing for me to correct this issue. It lasted just past warranty and screen went dark. Just bought a 4, if it gives me the slightest problem I will never buy from this company again.

Utter rubbish, total waste of money. Had my Charge3 bought me as a Chrimbo prezzie 2 years ago. It’s now so dim it’s impossible to read, even in a dark room. Fitbit aren’t interested (unless you want to buy a replacement. Fat chance!
Fitbit ought to be used as an example case study in Marketing/Sales on how to alienate ones customer base. Bottom line.... avoid buying one of their poorly engineered products, although if you’re reading this you’re most likely already a disillusioned customer.
Time to get over this disappointment. Once bitten, twice shy, as the saying goes. Will get a Samsung or Apple as a replacement. At least their support doesn’t ignore their customers.
