My Charge 3 screen is excessively dim, even with a full charge. I've tried restarting it with no result. It will occasionally come on bright but after a few seconds it's dim again and I can't get it back. This is indoors and is still difficult to read. Outside with any amount of sunlight, it's impossible to read.

I have the same problem since I updated my fit bit
Now that fitbit has been bought by Google there may be an improvement ?

Best AnswerI tried that, I get normal, dim, and auto. All seem to have the same brightness 😐
Having same issue, have had for just over 1 year and first problem have had. Went to settings on brightness, tried auto and normal, but it keeps going back to dim! So frustrating. Not sure what to do other than replace it as past warranty period.
Best AnswerI'm kinda hoping and wishing that Google was hoping to use/leverage the social aspect of the fitbit community that they have created (ie. Fitbit friends/competitions/etc)
That would be the best bet for most of us; allow us the freedom of selecting from a LOT more fitness trackers, while still being able to be in friendly competitions with others. (which is what I love doing)
Meanwhile, I'll just always just sync my fitbit to actually see how many steps I've done for the day 😞
Best AnswerI have trouble reading the time on my Charge 3 also, unless I've got my reading glasses on. But you can set different clock faces, and while most of them don't help much either, I can read the analog one 🙂 I'd rather have an analog face with fatter hands on it, and more differentiation between the minute hand and hour hand, but it's almost always good enough.
Me too me too me too. I just bought a Fitbit Charge 4 and it's great. However I would like to give my Charge 3 to someone and there's no way with the dim screen. I've done everything suggested to no avail. I guess we're all out of luck?!
Mine was so dim I couldn't read it to change the settings. Even in a closet with all the lights off, I could barely see the faint glow of the letters, but couldn't quite make them out. It never counted my flights of stairs either. It still synced with the phone app, though, so I could track my steps and sleep. I finally retired it and got a Garmin watch. Much better!
Really frustrated now. So dim on normal setting I can just about see the time. It has a mind of its own where it changes to auto brightness. This is not worth having as it is just a black screen so pot luck if I can scroll to settings to change back. With so many complaints why has there not been a fix for it. Hubby was given a much cheaper model for Christmas. Does everything a fitbit does and the screen is very clear. Next model will not be fitbit.
I started this string a while ago and seem to get a new reply every single day... At this point I have NO visible screen--its like the original fitbits and either I need to start wearing an analog watch on the other hand or dump it... I've decided to switch to Garmin; I shouldn't have to keep buying a new tracker every two years and am starting to wonder if this might not be a corporate tactic to increase sales of new products.
thats impossible to do when there's not even a visible screen anymore.
