My Charge 3 screen is excessively dim, even with a full charge. I've tried restarting it with no result. It will occasionally come on bright but after a few seconds it's dim again and I can't get it back. This is indoors and is still difficult to read. Outside with any amount of sunlight, it's impossible to read.

That worked for a few days for me then stopped working.
How difficult is it to let you set it permanently bright

Rumor is.....that it's the ambient light sensor.
Again, it's faulty hardware.

It's set to normal, the brightest setting I have, still too dim.

Mines now unusable outside the house. I have to set it going before I leave the house and just not touch it till I return.
They won't respond to this.
I've bought a 2 and a 3 the last two April's and need to replace....

Well don't get a 4, based on all the problems people are having with it in the Charge 4 forum. Color me surprised.

I dont believe "Jenny " If that were the issue or if it could be fixed in that manner, customer support would be walking us thru that. There is no fix other than a new device. Whether you complain and get Fitbit to replace it or you purchase another one.

Hi - That is the problem with Fitbit. After few days screen going to be black fully. You cannot able to see the screen. That is the existing problem. Please contact customer support immediately. if you have warranty they are going to replace the product if not they will offer 25% to purchase other defective products. Fitbit is aware of this problem but still they will sell the defective product to the customer. Now it is the time to change from Fitbit to other company. I had same problem and my warranty expired one month back hence Fitbit did not replace instead they offer 25% discount for other product. So I lost faith on Fitbit and bought Garmin active 3 and is working fine with more accurate than Fitbit.
Thank you.

What it means is your Fitbit is doing and they're send you an email to offer you 25% off another if yours is out of warranty

It worked for me when I hooked it up to my computer fir the first time in ages. I always buy an xtended warranty & get a new one when they stop working or charging properly.

I've had my Charge 3 now since it was released in October 2018. My screen has only in the last month or so started to fade around the top two corners and overall the screen has become impossible to read outside whether in shade, cloud cover or sun. It is set to "normal" brightness. This is ironic because when I first bought it I, so very much, wanted an even dimmer setting than "dim" for overnight. I've tried restarting it to no avail. Any other ideas...?

It's dying a slow death and it's out of warranty. At least only the screen is shot. The device still works you just can't use all it's features anymore. 😥

Same issue here. Display is dim, it is impossible to see even the time at day time. Bright mode, in dim mode it is completely black
Device is about 2 month out of warrant. I called to Support (30 min waiting to be connected), and they only offering me 25% discount to purchase another Charge 3. The only solution I've got was to spend another $100 purchasing old model. FitBit Support does not care to offer me any other options, repair, replacement, etc.
So bad. I'm long time loyal customer. I had Charge HR, then Charge 2, now Charge 3, but buying new device once a year is not an option
Seems like there is a time for me to look around for another platform with devices staying longer alive - and with better support and customer service
