Charge 3 won't charge and won't turn on

I am trying to repurpose my daughters charge 3 that she had sitting in her drawer.  At first I could get it turned on and charge.  The screen was initially half dimmed.  I also had a charge 3 that screen was blank and it was replaced with new charge 4 (thank you, it's working perfectly).

Now when I try to charge it, nothing happens, it doesn't vibrate or light up.  I'm using the same charger as my charge 4 and that is charging perfectly.  I did try a couple of times, holding down the button while on charger etc..  and nothing.  At one point I got a constant vibrate while off the charger, what is happening there, then a smiley face.  I connect it and it say 0%, then it dies again and doesn't charge.

I'm not sure if this one is doing the same as my previous one.  My husband wants to use it, but I can't get it turned on to connect.

I think it may still be connected to my daughters fitbit account.

I cleaned the connecting points with a alcohol wipe and it's now charging.  However it still has fading issues on the right side of the face. Hard to capture in the photo as the camera seems to enhance the pixels.  It's not what you see with the naked eye, it's a lot faded and dimmer.20250815_124313.jpg

@NotFitOneBit   Fitbit released the Charge 3 almost seven years ago, making it a rather old device.  Screens and batteries can fail, even in long term storage.  I don't think there is anything you can do to improve the screen.

There is one thing about your picture that caught my eye.  Can you clarify the band color?  The Charge 3 has a rose gold/blue gray combination.  Your band color looks more lavender, a band color that was only available on the Charge 2 (I had one and Fitbit didn't sell replacements in that color).  If it is a Charge 2, then it is an unsupported legacy device.

It's definitely a charge 3.

@NotFitOneBit   Thanks for that photo.  Just being complete.  But like I wrote, I don’t think there is anything you can do to fix that screen.
