Charge 3 won't connect

I can't connect a second hand Charge 3 i received as a gift to my phone. The app finds it but won't connect to it.

I tried everything i could:

- Bluetooth restart

- phone restart

- charge 3 cleared user data

- charge 3 rebooted device

- disconnected all other Bluetooth devices (speaker & Xiaomi band)

Nothing seems to help. I wanted to contact support but I don't have a Twitter account. Maybe I will have to create one, but I figured I'd start by asking here for help. Thanks!

I guess my phone isn't supported?... I have a Pixel 3a and from the list it looks like no 'A's are supported.

Thank you so much for your help, I truly appreciate it! 🙂

Hi @Yagirlfit these devices pair with the email address, not with bluetooth, although it does use it.

it's not so much the phone as it is the system and the bluetooth version. Is your phone on the list of compatible devices? click to see

here is something a moderator posted about phones being compatible:

"Please note that your phone or tablet is not on our list of compatible devices. We confirmed that the devices on this list are fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device.

We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. Be sure to verify that your phone or tablet meets the minimum operating system requirements.

If your phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, we provide assistance and troubleshooting steps. Because your phone or tablet is not fully compatible with Fitbit devices, we can't guarantee syncing and other Fitbit features. "

My charge three has been working since February. Now after the update it won't sync to my phone. This has been about a week now.  I have even tried unistall and reinstall, but nothing will bring it back. It can't even find my Fitbit charge. Unless they sort it out, I am thinking maybe return it to suppler to return to manufactory. I didn't pay out money for some thing that doesn't work 100% for me. Not impressed.

I just received my Charge 3 as a gift today, it was working find, then I had a prompt to update firmware,  Now it will not connect and is stuck on the initial "set up" screen with the instructions to go to "www.fitbit.com/setup".  I've tried to resync the Charge 3 to my phone, re-pair it, and nothing is working, it will not come out of "Setup" mode.
