Was so excited to see an update this morning, hope that would be the fix to my very recent Fitbit woes. Things have now gotten worse. It stopped syncing 2 days ago and today, after the update, it has stopped working. My last Fitbit lasted 3 years and my Charge 3 was an upgrade. So disappointed. Sigh, do I get a replacement Fitbit?

I understand how are you feeling. If your tracker isn't connecting with your phone, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and follow the instructions provided there.
