My Charge 3 inexplicably developed condensation despite:
- gentle use (I've never dropped, bumped it into hard surfaces, or exposed it to excessive temperatures)
- no exposure to heavy perspiration (I bought it to track my sleep. I don't do strenuous exercise or live in a hot/humid climate)
- not water exposure (never it while swimming or in the shower. Dried immediately if splashed while hand washing)
Before realizing there was a condensation issue, the problems started off with vertical lines showing up on the display. I tried to change the clock face, but the device wouldn't connect. After doing a few hard resets, the device wouldn't turn on at all. It was only then that I turned the device over and saw the fairly large droplets in the blinky light panel area.
Though the droplets did get smaller after a couple weeks, it no longer turns on the main display. When connecting it to the charger, the smiley face shows up for a few seconds. There were a few other times where the display showed the Fitbit Logo with the numbers "001" below. Pretty disheartening considering that I've had it for only a year and a half, and took good care of it throughout 😞
Has anyone else had this issue? And, if so, how did you resolve it?
